my research interest focuses on urban thermal environment, climate change, ecosystem service, and sustainability using geospatial technologies (gis, rs, geostatistics, geo-visualization, machine learning, deep learning, etc.) for sustainable development at multiple scales. since graduating from the university of graduate, chinese academy of sciences (cas) in july 2006, i have been working as a professor of geography at jiaying university, teaching several courses such as principle of gis, remote sensing, application of gis software-arcgis, english for gis, environment and sustainable development, and so on. i earned my ph.d. in human geography from the university of graduate, cas, in july 2007 and earned a postdoctoral certificate in environmental science and engineering from the research center for eco-environmental sciences, cas, in december 2011. i have been a trustee of the guangdong society for remote sensing and geographic information systems and a member of the american geophysical union (agu) since 2011, a member of the geographical society of china (gsc) since 2006, and a member of guangdong association for sustainable development since 2004. i was a visiting scholar at the university of michigan, ann arbor, from may 2013 to aug. 2014. and once more, i conducted visiting scholar research at the university of hawaii at manoa from sep. 2018 to sep. 2019.
as a principal investigator (pi), i completed more than 10 research projects such as the natural science foundation of guangdong province, the knowledge innovation program of the chinese academy of sciences (grant no.kzcx2-yw-br-03), the sciences and technology program of guangdong province, the open fund of state key laboratory of loess and quaternary geology, the collaborative sub-project of high-level science and technology innovation platform ("985" program) by the institute of global environmental change, xi'an jiaotong university, the teaching reform project of guangdong provincial colleges (cs100-gdcs041), and the key project of new century education and teaching reform program of jiaying university, and so on. and as the main team member, i carried out two projects for the natural science foundation of china, one project for the natural science foundation of guangdong province, and three projects for the science and technology program of guangdong province. currently, my ongoing project funded by the guangdong provincial department of education key field project (new generation information technology) focuses the study on the automatic recognition method of meizhou pomelo individual trees based on uav high-resolution remote sensing and deep learning (no. 2020zdzx3044).
since 2000, i have so far published more than 70 peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals/conferences. and i have also directed several undergraduate teams to attend the contest of university gis across china, winning a second place prize, an excellent prize, a consolation prize, an outstanding instructor award, etc. i also won many honorary titles such as an excellent cpc member by the guangzhou institute of geochemistry, cas, an excellent individual in scientific research by jiaying university, and so on. what's more, i was selected as a training object of the “colleges qian-bai-shi talents training program” of guangdong province and one of the first session training objects of the young and middle-aged backbone teachers key training program of jiaying university.
